You know you have to address that pile of admin wo You know you have to address that pile of admin work that you keep putting off to attend to more pressing business matters...but now it's piling up, and the overwhelm is real.⠀
⠀
As a business owner, I get it. ⠀
⠀
To help you avoid the admin work back up, start by setting aside one day per month to tackle admin work you've been meaning to get to. Then try these tips to help you manage and keep it under control.⠀
⠀
📍 Block out at least 4 hrs/week to get YOUR admin work done. Plan it out, and make sure you know ahead of time what you're going to work on and approximately how much time each task will take.⠀
⠀
📍 Get out of the house! Leave the chores behind and escape to a quiet setting to focus. A coffee shop or library can be the perfect setting to help you zero in on what you need to get done.⠀
⠀
📍 Be sure to come prepared with everything you'll need while you work. Paper, pens, journal, and of course, your laptop (and power cord!) Being prepared also means packing your favorite snacks to help keep you focused and energized.⠀
⠀
When done consistently, putting time aside to get your tasks done can help you cross a ton of items off your to-do list and fill you with a sense of accomplishment.⠀

As a first-generation entrepreneur, my goal is to As a first-generation entrepreneur, my goal is to create a business that can sustain me, my future family, and give back to the community. Learning how to create that business on my own has been quite the journey.⠀
⠀
Juggling all the moving pieces, wearing multiple hats, figuring out how to hire, figuring out what to invest in, how to manage my finances, making sure that I'm able to pay myself and my team, promotions, sales...it was a LOT.⠀
⠀
Add to the flood of information online and the inevitable ups and downs of daily life, and I felt incredibly overwhelmed.⠀
⠀
Being proactively present is important because, ultimately, it means TAKING A BREAK. Having a chance to enjoy the fruits of your labor while still keeping your sh*t together and getting your work done.⠀
⠀
You can still be a go-getter and high-achiever and not work your pants off every day. You still need to enjoy life with the people you love, have some fun, and relax. ⠀
⠀
You can still chase your dreams and goals without letting it burn you out. Practice being proactively present in your life. Take a rest, and take care of yourself. 💛⠀

Many people aren't aware that there's a difference Many people aren't aware that there's a difference between an online business manager and a director of operations.

Both roles can be instrumental in helping a CEO grow and organize their business. However, choosing which one you might require depends on your company's size and needs.

An online business manager helps CEOs manage a growing team's day-to-day tasks. They act as a support to help offload some of the business owner's responsibilities.

OBMs follow the CEO's instructions to help oversee projects and manage a growing team. However, the OBM isn't a business partner and doesn't help strategize or organize business operations.

Therefore, as a company continues to scale past the 6-figure mark, a business owner might require additional help with strategizing, implementing structure, and supporting leadership.

When this happens, a director of operations is needed. Certified DOOs have the skills, experience, and training necessary to help the CEO organize business operations and make sure business decisions are in line with the company's vision. DOOs can even allow CEOs the flexibility of stepping away from daily business operations to explore new business ventures.

Knowing the difference between the roles of OBMs and COOs can help you determine which one is needed for the current stage of your growing business. Even more importantly, they can help eliminate the stress of trying to handle everything yourself!
